Online Dispensary in Williams Lake, BC

Williams Lake almost missed out on the future entirely. When the Cariboo Wagon Road was built in 1863, it bypassed the small settlement that had grown around a Shuswap encampment and a tiny 1840s chapel, sending traffic and prosperity elsewhere. Recovery didn’t arrive until 1919, when the Pacific Great Eastern Railway finally reached the shore of the adjacent lake, itself named in 1860 for Chief William of the Sugar Cane Indian Reserve. The Shuswap name for the site, Columneetza, translates to “the gathering place of the lordly ones,” a fitting label for a town that would go on to become the commercial hub of the entire Cariboo region.

That same railway arrival year, locals threw together an impromptu rodeo for railway crews and homesteaders, a modest gathering that grew into the Williams Lake Stampede, now the second-largest professional rodeo in Canada behind only Calgary’s. Ranching and, more recently, forestry have carried the local economy ever since. Weed Market ships to Williams Lake addresses the same way it does across the rest of British Columbia, fast, tracked and completely discreet.

What You Should Know About Buying Cannabis in Williams Lake, BC

• Williams Lake requires every cannabis store to sit at least 300 metres from schools, licensed daycares and the Cariboo Memorial Recreation Complex.
• Stores also have to be at least 500 metres apart, and a closed store stops counting toward that gap once it no longer holds both a city business licence and a provincial licence.
• Each new store application is referred to the city by the provincial Liquor and Cannabis Regulation Branch, and council decides at a regular meeting whether to support it.
• Each late summer, the downtown Art Walk & Sale turns more than 50 local businesses into galleries, and a stamped passport enters you to win $500 in local art.
