Online Dispensary in High River, AB

High River is named after the Highwood River that runs through it. The Blackfoot, who lived across much of this area, called the spot Ispitzee, the “place of high trees along running water.” Settlers began arriving around 1870, after the North-West Mounted Police came west, and Treaty 7 was signed in 1877. Before it had a town name, the site was known simply as “The Crossing,” the place where people, horses and cattle could get across the Highwood River.

The Calgary and Edmonton Railway was finished in 1892, and High River became a village in 1901 and a town in 1906, with area rancher Daniel Edward Riley as its first mayor. The river has flooded the town many times, and in 2013 the Highwood flood forced thousands of people to evacuate. Murals painted around town since the 1990s tell its history, and former Prime Minister Joe Clark and author W. O. Mitchell count among its notable people. Today High River is home to 14,324 people (2021 census), about 68 km south of Calgary. Weed Market ships to High River the same way it does across the rest of Alberta, fast, tracked and completely discreet.
