Online Dispensary in Taber, AB

Taber started out as Tank No. 77, a water stop for the railway. Mormon settlers from the United States reportedly founded a hamlet at the tank in 1903, and when the CPR post office opened in 1907, the railway chose the name “Tabor,” probably after Mount Tabor. Official records spelled it “Taber,” so the name was changed to match. Another local story says the name comes from “tabernacle,” a fitting nod to the settlers who built the hamlet.

Taber became a village in 1905 and a town in 1907, and coal mining carried its early economy. When mining slipped in the late 1920s, large-scale irrigation in the 1930s revived the town and opened the door to sugar beets. The beet processing plant built in 1950 is still a vital part of the local economy. Plenty of sunshine also earned Taber the title of Corn Capital of Canada. Today it’s home to 8,862 people (2021 census), about 51 km east of Lethbridge. Weed Market ships to Taber the same way it does across the rest of Alberta, fast, tracked and completely discreet.
