Online Dispensary in Lacombe, AB

Lacombe started out as Barnett’s Siding, named for the stopping house Ed Barnett opened along the Calgary and Edmonton Trail. A retired North-West Mounted Police member, Barnett arrived in 1883 and is remembered as the area’s first permanent settler. CPR president William Van Horne later renamed the community after Father Albert Lacombe, the Oblate missionary who lived among the Cree and Blackfoot, helped broker peace between them and negotiated the railway’s route through Blackfoot territory.

The Calgary and Edmonton Railway arrived in 1891, and Lacombe became a village in 1896 and a town in 1902. A federal experimental farm opened in 1907, and its researchers later bred the Lacombe hog, the first livestock breed developed in Canada. Lacombe became Alberta’s 17th city on September 5, 2010, and its downtown is still lined with restored Edwardian buildings, led by the Flatiron. Today it’s home to 13,396 people (2021 census), about 25 km north of Red Deer and 125 km south of Edmonton. Weed Market ships to Lacombe the same way it does across the rest of Alberta, fast, tracked and completely discreet.
